Just so you know - I did bake the cake, and ate it too! Wow! It is a sticky job, lots of syrup and caramel - lots of mess and accidents, but the cake from Lakshmi that I wrote about a few days ago was delicious. It is a sweet, light, sticky delight!
I hope you had a great Christmas - we did here in Wales - we even began an Italian tradition that my son brought home with him from Rome and we stayed up till midnight on Christmas Eve to open ALL our presents! It felt very grown up and I loved the quiet of the night, the love shared with the thoughtful gifts and the lie-in in the morning. So, no more rising at dawn for us - Christmas morning is now about a leisurely preparation for the Christmas Lunch - which was Roast Duck and Chicken with roast veg and chestnuts - and of course the cake. What did you eat?
I haven't finished yet - so - much - chocolate - h - e - l - p !
OOPS! I burnt the plastic recipe cover on the hob...
This is how my kitchen looks to me without my glasses on. Oh dear - it's bi-focals in the New Year!
Yum! Thank you Lashkmi - I will be devouring many more of your recipes in 2012.
