As I have already confessed to my occasional collection of stamps - I couldn't help but share this picture!
Firstly - these are not mine (sadly) but I do own a presentation pack of the stamps (My stamp collection has a theme - all things connected with and for children - and Christmas - oh an occasionally the Royal Family..)
So I jumped up when I found this picture on my tumblr blog not only because they are gorgeous illustrations but because of the place name HEADINGTON in Oxford, which is My family name AND is of course where we originate from - we are the HEADINGTONS of Headington, Oxford - grocers, butchers, shopkeepers of one sort or another before scattering over the English Countryside toward Gloucestershire and then, when the railroads were being set up - the move to WALES! Sometimes though, when driving through the Gloucestershire Countryside, my blood beats faster, and my spirits lift higher - I seem to breathe more easily too....I think settling in Wales was by force of necessity rather than choice of birth for the HEADINGTON family - we are landowners at heart - Orchard Keepers in spirit - and shopkeepers still!
